Last Baseball Game

Shan and Carsons baseball seasons both ended this last week. We spent a lot of time this spring at the baseball fields and had a lot of fun! Now what are we going to do with all our time?

Back yard swimming!

The weather has been so nice, we've spent lots of time swimming in the back yard! We haven't got out the big slide yet, but we will soon I'm sure!

One Fun Weekend!

On Friday Shan took off for his annual Memorial weekend fishing trip at Henries lake. So the boys and I went up to my parents house to hang out with my family. We had a ton of fun. My parents had finished their awesome playhouse and the boys played in it almost the whole weekend. We stopped at my Grandma and Grandpa Johns grave to leave flowers. Then we looked around for a while, there sure are some weird headstones out there! My dad was super Grandpa. He went with the boys and I to the park and did everything with Blake. The swings, slides and everything else.
My boys love the park they have there. It looks just like a castle!

Then he took all of us to see Indiana Jones. Carson has been wearing his Indiana Jones hat almost everywhere for the last two weeks and he was so excited to see the movie.

The last day he even took all three of my boys to McDonalds for lunch! Dad your the best! It was fun for me to see my family and we even got to play some games this time! That is one of my favorite things to do, and it was super fun! Another great Memorial weekend!

Oh yeah, no pictures of Shan's fishing trip. The weather was terrible, it rained the whole weekend. And the fishing was bad too! The ice had just come off the lake and it turned out to be a terrible time to be fishing. Too bad, he looks forward to this trip all year! We'll be crossing our fingers that next year will be better.

Preschool Graduation!

Today was Carsons preschool graduation! The little program was super cute. They had the kids sing cute songs and tell us what they learned about that year.

This is Carson saying one of his parts.

Then they had them all get on there hats and gowns.

Then they introduced each child, gave them their diploma and said what they were really good at that year. They said Carson was very good at building and putting shapes together. They had found their future engineer! Way to go buddy. We couldn't be more proud with all you have learned this year at preschool!

They also gave us the cutest scrapbook of little things he had done during the year. It had little papers he had written and little notes from his teachers! That will be so nice to have!(Along with the 300 other papers I have kept :)

Michael, A Mini Chef!

Tuesday Michael started his very first little class. I signed him up for a little chefs class with two of his buddies.

They are all liking the class, especially the food. And having a fun time playing together.

I've gone and sat through the class the last two days, because we're never really sure when it will end. And Blake has been SO good for me! He's such a cutie!

A new Goal!

Last night Carson came home from a friends house to tell me we needed to go right down to Target and get this great big Star Wars Lego ship he suddenly needs. I told him that I wasn't going to go get it right away, maybe he could get it for his birthday (my standard answer, because I know they will forget about it by then :) He continues to wine, I continue to say no, until he finally puts on his saddest face and says "Mom, you broke my heart and ruined my life!"
Wow! I must work fast. I'm sure my mom didn't ruin my life until at least 10!
So I told him maybe we could talk to his dad about some ways he could earn some money to save up for this ship. So, later Shans talking to him about how he can earn money and tells Carson that he's not going to be able to earn enough money in a couple days, it will probably take at least a couple weeks to earn enough money. Carson looks up at him almost about to cry and says "In a couple weeks, like when I'm an adult!" Shan and I could not stop laughing. It is so funny how long a couple weeks seems to them. Anyway, he got right to doing chores and has already earned $4.
By the way - he asked me to take this picture of him with his jar - that almost earned him another buck!

Fathers and Sons

This weekend was our wards fathers and sons campout. Shan took Carson and Michael, who have both been feeling sick all week. Brave man! They packed up a left Friday night to go up to Oak Grove and spend the night in a tent.
Saturday morning at 8:45 Shan walked through the door and handed me the camera and said, "These pictures say it all."

And I guess they do! Both boys were sick and wanting to be held the whole time. Ten minutes after they got there Michael was asking to go home and get mommy. And then in the middle of the night Michael woke up and told Shan he needed to go home to his bed! Poor boys! They love camping, it just wasn't there weekend.

Happy 32nd Birthday!

Today is Shan's 32nd birthday! And so even though he will probably never see this post, I wanted to wish him a happy birthday. He is such an amazing husband and even better dad. Our boys wake up asking for him every morning and can't wait until he makes it home. He is always thinking of our little family and what he can do for us. He is a super hard worker and has always taken care of our family. Since we were married we have joked that he is the "entertainment committee" for our family. He is just so fun and is always coming up with fun activities for our family. I love him so much and am so lucky that I get to spend his next 32 years (and eternity)with him! Happy birthday sweetheart!

Happy Mothers Day to me!

Yea! For mothers day my sweet husband and boys got me a new camera! Mine has been dropped a few times and was being held together by some tape, so it was definately time for a new one! Carson helped pick it out, which is why it is blue. But I think it's a cute color. Anyway, Shan got up with the boys and let me lay in bed for a little while, but not for too long. Shan, Blake and Carson were all sick. We've been sick around here all week, so it was no surprise. So I guess I got to spend the day being a mother, taking care of sick kids. We had to skip church, which was too bad, I look forward to the mothers day lessons. That night we headed over to Shans parents to tell his mom happy mothers day. We didn't stay long, but it was good for him to spend some time with his mom. So it was kind of a relaxed, day, but it was nice anyway.

Our Growing Garden

Since I got my new camera and wanted to take some pictures, I decided to take some pictures of our garden. This year we planted our first garden in this house(only our second ever). It is growing so good!(Even though you can't really tell in this picture!)

We have already harvested all of our radishes. Those were fun because they grew really fast and the kids loved pulling them.

And our peas should be ready sometime this week. Those are my favorite so I'm pretty excited! It's been a fun little project for Shan and I. We laugh because every night we are out checking on the garden and Shan checks it before he even comes in the house after work. It makes us feel a little old, but it's fun.

Mothers Day Tea Party

Thursday was the Mothers day tea party at Carsons preschool. It was super cute. They had the moms bring blankets to sit on and then the kids sang a bunch of songs and did the sign language to go along with it. Carsons did really good. He knew most of the words and sign language. I was impressed! And all this time when he would tell me some sign was sign language for a word, I thought most of the time he was making it up! I guess he really does know. Oops!
Anyway afterwards the kids got their mom a plate of refreshments and then brought them out this picture as a gift. Carson look pretty funny in his picture, but I think it's a cute idea! It was fun to get to spend a little time with just Carson. It seems like I never get enough one-on-one time with any of my boys!

Stitches!

Thursday morning Shan came to pick up Michael and Blake so I could go to the Mothers day tea party at Carsons preschool. When he showed up he had a cut on his hand that needed some stitches and he just planned to take the boys to the instacare with him! He is so amazing. There's no way I would be able to do that. I was already at the preschool and the tea party was about to start, so, with guilt, I let him take off with the boys. He actually only got signed in and was waiting for his turn when I picked up the boys. He ended up with three stitches. He cut his hand while pulling wire for work. He says it's not so bad, and I guess I believe him, since he played baseball that night and then played in a golf tournament the next two days.

Blake's First Steps!

Two tuesdays ago Blake took his first steps. We were at the shop and he took a couple steps right to his Grandma Miller. He's still only taking a few steps every once in a while, when encouraged. But, he can stand up in the middle of the room all by himself, so, I'm sure walking is just around the corner. I've been waiting to get a picture of him standing, but haven't got one, so, this is just the lastest picture of our sweetie!

Rhino on fire!

Saturday we decided to take the boys out to some dirt fields by our house and let Carson ride his motorcycle and the rest of us would follow in the Rhino. After a little crash Carson ended up in the Rhino with Blake and I. And we were following Shan and Michael on the motorcycle. It started feeling really hot in the Rhino and smelled a little like smoke, but I thought the motor was just getting hot. Shan stopped after a minute to check on us and he realized the Rhino was actually on fire. We hurried and got the kids out of the Rhino and then had to put out the fire with the water bottles we had luckily brought with us. Turns out there were some dead leaves and branches that had collected under the Rhino and they had caught on fire. It burned through a hose and caused a little damage, but we were able to drive it home. So, I am feeling super blessed. Had we driven a little further the fire could have reached the gas tank or gotten bigger and I don't know if I would have been able to get my kids out of the Rhino in time. I think an angel was watching over us!

This is Shan using a stick to get all the leaves and sticks out from under the Rhino so it wouldn't catch fire on the way home!

And here's my cute Blake! Buckled up like a good boy.

Early birthday present!

Saturday we went and picked out Shans birthday present. He really needed a new golf club bag and wanted it early, since he is in a tournament this coming weekend. He was pretty excited. So Happy Early Birthday sweetie!

Carsons Gym Review

Thursday at Carsons preschool they had their gym review. It was really fun to see Carson show us all the fun things they had practiced in the gym all year. At the end they did a little awards ceremony and gave out awards and medals to all the kids. Carsons award was for being super good at the balance beam. Way to go Carson!

Unfortunately I forgot that my cameras battery was dead - so these crumby pictures are from my video camera!
