Our trip to Omaha

Shan had to go to work in Omaha for a couple days. So we decided to join him. We wanted to go see Omaha and since his work was paying for the gas to get there and the hotel room we decided it was the perfect time to go!! Shan had to work all day... but the kids and I played.
Our first stop was the Omaha Zoo. We had heard great things about this zoo and it did not disappoint us.
It had this humongous building that was a jungle. So amazing!!

And it even had a full size aquarium. The kids loved walking through the Shark tunnel.

It had a neat butterfly garden. It was indoors and it had huge butterfly's. They would just come land right on you. And there was a ton of them! Kambree was in heaven.

The zoo had a fun tram that would take you from stop to stop. The kids loved riding that.

As you can tell from my shiny face... it was a hot day! In the picture below the boys are cooling off in the misters. They would get soaking wet and be dry in minutes!
As we were leaving the Oscar Mayer wiener was out front so we had to snap a picture.
We had so much fun. The kids were awesome and nobody complained at all. I just wish Shan could have enjoyed the day with us.

Winter Quarters

After we picked up Shan at the hotel we went to dinner and then headed to Winter Quarters. It was really a neat experience. They have made the visitors center very kid friendly. They let the kids dress up like pioneers and then pull the hand cart. They all loved it .... except Michael who wouldn't dress up.
 Love my pioneer girl.

We got to see how big there cabins were and learn about all they had to endure. I didn't realize there were so many people at winters quarters.

It was a cool experience and I'm glad that we were able to go see it and the temple!

Omaha Childrens Museum

The next day we went to the Omaha Children's Museum. It was really fun for the kids. It had a huge play grocery store, and water tubes.

It had a pretend fire truck and a real one. The boys played this for hours. They loved dressing up like fire fighters and running around!

By far the funnest part was this huge room full of tubes that had air flowing through them. So you could put balls in them and then turn cranks or pop the balls or send them flying. And then they would all end up in this huge tank in the ceiling. When the buzzer would go off all the kids would gather under the tank and it would let the balls drop.
The kids would all scramble to gather balls.

Loved this room! It was all I could do to get the kids to check out a different part of the museum.

Terrible pictures because I just had my phone. But here is Michael making a huge bubble. They had fun here and we were all exhausted by the time we left.

Our last night in Omaha

After the children's museum get got Shan and decided to go to the bridge by our hotel. It crosses the Missouri river and is the dividing line between Nebraska and Iowa. So now we can all say we've been in two states at once!

At the bottom of the bridge was a fun splash pad. We weren't prepared, but let the kids run through and have fun anyway.

They were all soaked. So we took a walk along the river to let them dry off before we got in the car.
The next day we were only there a half day. So I let the kids go swimming in the morning. And then we headed to the park to feed the ducks.
These ducks were serious! See the kids running for there lives.
They finally figured out if they stood down a stair the ducks couldn't get them.
It was a fun little trip. I am so glad Shan let us tag along!

Back to Deanna Rose

Carson didn't get to go with us the first time we went to Deanna Rose. So we decided to enjoy another day at the farm.
It was the perfect day. There was hardly anyone there. So we fed the ducks.
 And we rose the tractors.
And fed the baby goats again. This time they were way more aggressive. I'm guessing because there were less people there feeding them. So they were probably starving.
But they still had fun feeding them.
We evens topped in at the Indian section that we skipped last time.
And we found a fun little movie theater. It was nice and cool and showed a movie about how we get milk. We all had fun there again and I am sure it will be a frequent stop of ours!!
