February 23

Today was a fun day. We got Michael and Carson to school (I had to drive them because they Carson has flat tires!) and then got ready for the day. We took Blake to preschool and then my mom and I went to Walmart to pick up a couple groceries. My dad stayed home to read the third hunger games book. After that we walked to pick up Blake from preschool. He liked having us walk up to get him. We came home and had lunch and soon decided we should walk down to the park and play for a while and then just pick up the boys from school that way.
Blake and Kambree loved playing at the park.
Blake is quite a climber. And just this week he has figured out the monkey bars. He's really good at them and loves to do it!
Kambree on the other hand just wants to swing the whole time we are at the park.My parents decided they needed to give that pendulum swing a try. It was so funny. They were having so much fun. This group of middle school kids was just standing there watching them, probably couldn't believe a couple grandparents were doing it!
While we were there three probably twelve year old girls came up to us to say they just spotted a fire in the sagebrush by the park, they didn't know how it started and would someone please call 911. We looked over and sure enough there was a pretty good fire like 30 feet from us. I called 911 and my dad ran over to check it out and make sure nobody was in the brush. It was a little spot that had been all carved out like some kids little fort. It had blankets and stuff in it.
As soon as we called 911 those girls took off. I think they must have started it. The firefighters found a lighter inside and who doesn't stick around to see the firefighters come?
Anyway, they got there super fast because they were just across the street doing a program for the kindergartners. I feel bad for those kids...program got cut short. But, it was fun for our kids. They got to see them get out their hose and shoot down the fire. We took some pictures with the truck and even got one of the kids with a firefighter.
It made for an exciting afternoon!
Carson and Michael were bummed that the fire truck took off just before they got out of school.
We let them play at the park for about an hour more. Michael is such a good climber. He climbed right on top of that water tractor.
Then we walked home. Carson and Michael were so rude to Blake. He wanted to walk home with them and they were doing everything they could to ditch him. I was so disappointed. We had a big talk when we got home about that. It just breaks my heart when they are purposefully mean to each other.
Then we had dinner. And made brownies for Carsons class tomorrow. After that it was time to talk to you on Skype. The kids loved that! Even today they keep talking about how they got to see you and how much better it is than just talking on the phone! Poor Kambree sure was grumpy, but I think she liked it the most. She just wanted to be right in front of it, wanted to be able to see you up close! They sure do miss you. Michael kept breaking out in tears when Kambree wouldn't let him see you. I think it was good for them to see you!
We miss you and are counting down to your first visit back!

It was wonderful to be with you. We hated to leave, but I am sure that you needed the rest from us. You forgot to tell Shan that Blake and I ran home in order to beat Carson and Michael. We actually won although it just about killed me. I told Blake that when he got really tired I would carry him on my shoulders. He ran fifteen feet and then said, "I am really tired!" He's a great little guy. Love you all, Dad

We loved that day! Firemen, a race from the school with the boys, and of course the park! (Thanks for posting the "good picture" of dad and I on the pendulum swing) We laughed hard and I am sure that we weren't doing it right! lol Next time down we will have to bring Wayne's kite and hit the park with you! Fun day!
